Private-candidate form and payment windows
Both dates and payment instructions come from Annexure 4 of the separate 7 October notices. Recheck the latest circulars before relying on them. Do not substitute a school's LOC cutoff for a private application deadline.
The notices require online form submission and online payment under the stated schedule. Fee amounts depend on the applicable entry and country, with separate Class XII practical-fee information. Use the official schedule and CBSE's payable amount; a printed additional-subject rate is not a universal application total.
| Class | Normal-fee window in the notice | Late-fee window in the notice |
|---|---|---|
| Class X | 8–23 October 2026 | 24–30 October 2026 |
| Class XII | 8–23 October 2026 | 24–30 October 2026 |
Class X schedule · Annexure 4 →PDF page 10; payment methods on page 11.
Class XII schedule · Annexure 4 →PDF page 10 includes separate practical-fee information; payment methods on page 11.
Check later CBSE examination notices →Look for a revision or extension affecting your class and category before acting.
Read your class's eligibility table before choosing a category
Annexure 1 is the starting point: Class X page 6 and Class XII page 5. Compare the category with the exact words on your earlier result. A successful payment does not establish eligibility.
Full-subject routes include specified Essential Repeat/Fail histories and a defined 2026 medical-absence case. The medical case requires completed regular study and an allotted roll number; shortage of attendance is excluded. Read the complete row rather than treating any absence as eligible.
If your result year, previous subjects or circumstances do not clearly match a row, stop and ask CBSE for clarification. This page is a checking aid, not an eligibility calculator. Do not choose a different category merely because the portal offers a field.
| Decision to check | Class X | Class XII |
|---|---|---|
| Compartment route | The notice restricts the compartment application to the subject(s) in which the candidate is placed in compartment. | The notice restricts this route to the compartment subject. |
| Choosing the full-subject option after compartment | Annexure 1 describes an option for candidates in compartment in two subjects; it specifies selecting Essential Repeat for that full-subject route. | Annexure 1 describes an option for candidates in compartment in one subject; it specifies selecting Essential Repeat for that full-subject route. |
| Improvement of performance | PASS in 2026; same subject(s) appeared in during 2026; other conditions apply. | PASS in 2026; same subject(s) appeared in during 2026; other conditions apply. |
Class X eligibility · Annexure 1 →Read all Class X conditions, including the full-subject and improvement routes.
Class XII eligibility · Annexure 1 →Use the senior-secondary conditions, not Class X rules.
Prepare these checks before completing the form
The notices permit one application form. Select the category carefully before submitting; a second application under another category is not a workaround. Keep your checks and documents in the official process rather than sending them to TutorMax.
Use Annexure 3 for the complete photo specifications, including recency and framing. If practical/internal assessment or access arrangements apply, check their specific provisions with CBSE instead of assuming a previous mark or facility automatically carries over.
| Check | What to have ready |
|---|---|
| Class, year and category | The correct 7 October notice, your previous result and the matching Annexure 1 row. |
| Previous examination details | The correct roll, school and centre-number combination from your earlier marksheet, where available. |
| Candidate particulars | Read generated names and other particulars against your records. The notices distinguish 2026 records from 2025-and-earlier entries. |
| A working email address you can access for OTP verification. | |
| Subjects | Check the auto-generated options against your permitted category. Read the full name and code, especially language variants. |
| City and postal address | Choose the city carefully and provide the correct address. The notice says the allotted centre is final. |
| Photo and signature | Follow Annexure 3 and the portal's upload instructions. The general instructions specify JPG files not exceeding 40 KB. |
| Payment and record | Confirm the applicable online payment, then download the submitted form and check its data. |
Class X form instructions · Annexures 2 and 3 →General instructions on pages 7–8; category and photo instructions on page 9.
Class XII form instructions · Annexures 2 and 3 →General instructions on pages 6–8; category and photo instructions on page 9.
Confirm permitted subjects before choosing study material
Annexure 5 lists subjects with category permissions. A listed subject is not automatically available to every private applicant, and the portal's subjects are auto-generated. Match the class, category, full subject name and code.
For example, Class X uses Mathematics Standard 041 and Mathematics Basic 241; Class XII uses Mathematics 041 and Applied Mathematics 241. The same number 241 does not mean the same syllabus in both classes. Read the associated restrictions before using a paper or revision guide.
Class X subject permissions · Annexure 5 →Pages 12–15; read permissions and notes as well as the code.
Class XII subject permissions · Annexure 5 →Pages 12–17; permissions and subject-combination notes differ.
Check the saved application, then plan your preparation
- Save the submitted form and payment confirmation through CBSE's process; read the saved values carefully.
- Raise a mismatch promptly. The notice describes corrections, including subject and centre, up to the form-submission last date; do not assume an open-ended correction window.
- Follow CBSE's later admit-card and examination instructions. The notices specify a fresh roll number for 2027.
- Use the current 2027 examination syllabus and your confirmed subjects to select academic material. The later Class X second-exam decision is a separate policy question.
Official CBSE 2027 curriculum →The notices direct private candidates to the current examination-year syllabus.
Class 10 official sample-paper hub →Choose the paper matching the confirmed subject route.
Class 12 Maths paper and marking scheme →For Mathematics 041; Applied Mathematics is a different route.
Questions you might have
Are private-candidate dates the same as school LOC dates?
No. They are separate processes. Use Annexure 4 in the Class X or Class XII private notice for the private form and payment schedule, and check later CBSE notices.
Can I apply for improvement after passing in an earlier year?
The checked 7 October notices restrict Improvement of Performance to candidates declared PASS in 2026, in the same subject(s) appeared in during 2026 and subject to the other conditions. Read your class's Annexure 1 or ask CBSE if your case is unclear.
Does payment confirm that I am eligible?
No. The notice states that eligibility depends on fulfilling CBSE's conditions. Match your earlier result and category with Annexure 1 before applying.
Can TutorMax submit or correct my application?
This resource provides reference and academic-support links. The application, fees, eligibility and corrections remain within CBSE's official process; TutorMax does not collect the form or candidate documents here.
