CBSE Class 10 Science Question Papers: How to Practise and Review

Science paper scores can hide three different problems: a numerical gap in Physics, imprecise Chemistry explanations or missing Biology terms. Review by branch to make the next study session useful.

This hub links to official CBSE question and sample-paper sources and provides a routine for practising them.

Choose the official paper and scheme

Use CBSE's previous question papers and the CBSE Academic sample-paper archive. Label each attempt by exam year. Check for the current session's official sample and marking scheme rather than relying on an unofficial 'latest' PDF.

Review by branch and skill

AreaLook for
PhysicsModel selection, units, calculations, ray or circuit diagrams.
ChemistryBalanced equations, observations and the reason for a reaction.
BiologyPrecise process explanations, terms and labelled diagrams.

Use a correction cycle

  • Attempt a section without notes.
  • Mark it with the relevant official scheme where available.
  • Rewrite an answer that lost marks, explaining the correction.
  • Return to that skill after a few days before starting another full paper.

Know when to move to full papers

While chapters are still being taught, use topic questions and short mixed sets. After broad coverage, simulate the whole paper under its published time limit. A full paper is an assessment tool, not a substitute for learning a missing chapter.

Use the 2026–27 official resources

CBSE Academic now lists the Class X Science 2026–27 sample question paper and marking scheme. CBSE's question-paper page also lists Science papers from the 2026 main and second board examinations. Start with the current sample paper for design, then use the earlier official papers for varied practice after checking syllabus alignment.

Build a branch-wise scorecard

BranchTrack separately
PhysicsConcept choice, formula setup, units, calculations and diagrams.
ChemistryEquations, conditions, observations, terminology and reasoning.
BiologyProcesses, keywords, diagrams, comparisons and application.
Whole paperQuestion reading, time, answer length and unfinished responses.

What a parent can do after a mock

  • Discuss the error categories without turning the score into a judgement.
  • Ask the student to teach back one corrected answer.
  • Schedule repair sessions before the next mock paper.
  • Check that official marking-scheme language is understood rather than copied blindly.
  • Escalate for teaching help when the same concept fails after two correction attempts.
