About the role
Tutormax is looking for a Tutor Supply & Operations Trainee to help build and maintain a reliable network of freelance, part-time and batch-based tutors. You will support the complete tutor supply process: sourcing suitable tutors, conducting initial interviews, onboarding selected tutors, maintaining an accurate tutor roster, and ensuring suitable tutors are available for upcoming student and batch requirements. You may also occasionally assist with first-round interviews for other Tutormax team roles.
What you’ll do
- Source suitable tutors through applications, referrals, communities, direct outreach and other channels.
- Review tutor profiles and conduct initial interviews to assess communication, teaching experience, subject suitability, availability and overall fit.
- Build relationships with freelance, part-time and batch-based tutors.
- Explain Tutormax processes, expectations and engagement structure to selected tutors.
- Confirm subject expertise, grades, boards, availability, rates and required details during onboarding.
- Maintain an accurate tutor roster by subject, class, board, availability, experience and current capacity.
- Proactively identify tutor supply gaps and build coverage for anticipated requirements.
- Help match ready tutors to new student, demo and batch requirements, confirm availability and coordinate replacements.
- Track unresolved tutor requirements and follow up promptly.
- Occasionally conduct initial screening and first-round interviews for other Tutormax team roles.
What we’re looking for
- Strong Hindi and English communication skills.
- Comfortable conducting interviews over phone or video calls.
- Good organisational, evaluation and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, dashboards and internal systems.
- Able to manage multiple tutor requirements and keep records accurate.
- Proactive, reliable and comfortable working in a remote full-time environment.
- Laptop, reliable internet and a suitable workspace.
- Prior HR, recruitment, tutoring, education or operations experience is useful but not mandatory.
